Intro to Poetry, Day 7: “flavour”

I recently started a 10-day #introtopoetry course, courtesy of WordPress. (You can sign up too.) My seventh assignment is “flavour” and the literary device is found poetry.

For this exercise, I used the fifth word on each odd page from my book The Honeymooners’ Cookbook (where words are repeated I cheated a little):

Cookbook

Need whet eggs apples spinach
cup effort of flour little
easy top rocket pine nuts
portobello four full-fat streaky bulgar
sliced preserved onion cooked moist

and fiery hanky-panky oil mashed!
ciabatta peeled in balsamic capers
wholegrain shank zest thighs bacon
cream of leg wild mushrooms
yogurt fillets pale dark coffee

sugar strawberries vanilla ginger butter

cinnamon

(unless it’s a quickie)

Read my first, second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth attempt at writing poetry.
